Qingdao is home to a nice collection of sakura planted in Zhongshan Park before WWII by Japanese occupiers. Though the tumultuous past has been a point of contention for some, it cannot be disputed that these trees are a pretty legacy from a time not so fondly remembered in Qingdao.
