The beaches of Qingdao are easily accessible and scattered throughout the city. They are numbered instead of named, except for the Old Stone Man beach in Laoshan district.

The main tourist beach in Qingdao is Beach Number 1, on Huiquan Bay, in the old town near Little Fish Pagoda. The Huiquan Dynasty Hotel overlooks Beach Number 1.

Badaguan is the old international quarter of Qingdao.

When the city was a colonial possession of Germany, neighbourhoods were segregated into Chinese and non-Chinese areas.

The southern edge of Badaguan is bordered by Qingdao’s Beach Number 2 .

Beach Number 2 in Badaguan was the site of meetings of top government officials in 1957.

One of Qingdao’s best city skyline views can be seen from the eastern edge of Badaguan on Beach Number 3 (located on the eastern side of Taipingjiao Horn) looking northeast across Fushan Bay towards Donghai Lu and the Haitian Hotel.

Badaguan’s buildings are known for their European architectural heritage.

The Princess Villa at the corner of Linhuaiguan Lu and Zhengyangguan Zhi Er Lu (Lu is the Chinese Pinyin word for road and the character is written as 路) is just one of many of Badaguan’s extant buildings with international style.

Signal Hill is recognizable from the three red dome structures on the peak that can be seen from a distance. Views from the top of Signal Hill are of the panoramic coast, Jiaozhou Bay, and Qingdao’s colonial era commercial and residential districts.
