Many of the streets in Qingdao are named after places around China, i.e. cities (Beijing Lu), and provinces (Shandong Lu). Qingdao Lu runs south from the old city government building just south of Hunan Lu to Taiping Lu.

One of the shortest streets in Qingdao is called Qingdao Lu.

The road itself is not more than a few hundred meters long but is well known. It is near the Zhan Qiao Pier, Zhongshan Lu, and the former German municipal government building. Nearby historical buildings include the recently refurbished concession era post office at 5 Anhui Lu and the former American Consulate on Yishui Lu.
