One of Qingdao’s most widely attended trade shows is the SINOCES International Consumer Electronics Show. SINOCES is billed as Asia’s largest technology fair, and it is coming to the Qingdao International Convention Center on Miaoling Lu near Old Stone Man (Shi Lao Ren/石老人) starting July 8, 2010. The huge Exhibition and Convention Center will be full of exhibits from companies like Microsoft, Intel, Haier, Canon and many more, as Qingdao proudly displays to the world why it is called a major hub for consumer electronics in the world. With Qingdao based multinationals such as Haier and Hisense leading the way, it is not hard to believe. Check out this list of the 465 companies attending this year.
From the SINOCES website:
The Chinese market for consumer electronics (CE) is steadily becoming one of the world’s largest global marketplaces. As one of the globe’s two most influential CE fairs, the SINOCES will become the best platform for CE companies to unveil new products and exchange. The theme of the 2010 show is “Convergence & Innovation”.
The 2010 SINOCES will welcome thousands of global CE companies including chip manufacturers, software/content manufacturers, composite consumer electronics fabricants, IT hardware manufacturers, operators, communication service providers and circulation carriers. SINOCES is proud to announce that more than 25 Best of Innovations and Honorees products from the 2010 International CES will be on display. Buyers and purchasing groups from top global retailers such as Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Tesco, Carrefour and eBay are also expected to attend.
SINOCES is certified by the U.S. Department of Commerce and has proudly become one of a few select consumer electronics shows in China that is recommended and promoted by the U.S. government as a certified export trade event.
The show opens on July 8 at 10:30 am after a short ceremony and goes until 4:30 pm on the 8th, 9th and 10th. The fair will close on July 11 at 2 pm. SINOCES is an impressive event and this year there are supposedly 1000 new electronic products being diplayed for the the first time. From its humble beginnings in the old (now torn down) Exhibition Hall next to the Dynasty Hotel on Huiquan Square to this year’s massive show, SINOCES has become a yearly institution in Qingdao.
