Hares say: On our never ending quest for the best run ever we have another try on Saturday. And what a treat the hares will prepare for the Hashers. First off, there will be the magical old town. Every step is on historical ground, every arrow leading to a new old place, every Hash check making you stop and look. And on top of that will be even a learning experience for the one or two of you that want to read a bit more about our city. The hares will use the help of a little book called “Ein Führer durch Tsingtao” (no jokes about Germans and Führer please) which was printed in 1903 and lists a lot of facts and bits of information about the daily life more than 100 years ago at the very same spot.
Historical stuff? Learning!? Fear not, fellow Hashers! You don’t have to do all that and can simply enjoy the run through the area. And if you follow the trail correctly then it will lead you all the way to the brewery of Strong Ale Works on Da Xue Road. Oh yes! We will actually finish the run at a proper brewery. Isn’t that a treat? It is run by brewmaster John who will introduce us to the art of making tasty beer, will show us what it takes and what makes a beer good. He will let us taste a bit of his creations – coffee beer anyone? – and we will be allowed to ask all we ever wanted to know about making beer. Will this be the best run ever? Come and check it out on Saturday.
