Steven, Its interesting to see whats going on, I am struggling to find architecture practices which are actually based in Qingdao. From what I hear a lot of the work is done by international firms in Beijing or Shanghai or even abroad, and is then taken over by the local design institute.
Are you already based in Qingdao?
My partner has taken up a position which will most likely mean relocating to Qingdao after a few months in Beijing.
Yes, it seems that way. The Qingdao Grand Theatre (http://www.qingdaonese.com/qingdao-grand-theatre/) is one example of a major project by a foreign (German) firm, gmp. I am based in Qingdao, and will try to find some firms for you to look into. Hope you enjoy Beijing, welcome to Qingdao ~!

Hi, Currently living in London working as an architect in the city.
