  1. With a mission statement like that I wonder what the price of tickets will be.

    • Exactly. I would love to check out the venue there and go to a concert. But 100 – 580 RMB for Dance of Desire and 680 (!) – 1680 for Turandot? Who pays that much? That’s expensive even for Western standards.

Has anyone been to a concert in that place? Are many people going (and obviously paying the for the tickets)?

  2. The orchestra’s website says that their concerts are always free but that probably means only in the US. I have since heard that the cheapest tickets are 80 kuai. Not sure though. There are usually cheap tickets on sale outside the gate of places like the People’s Hall (in old town) from scalpers, right at the start of the show. Perhaps there is a similar situation going on at the Grand Theatre. BTW, I went to Jay Chou concert (friend treated 5 of us) and the tickets were similarly priced, the place was packed.

  3. Hello again!
Just saw the ticket prices. They start at RMB 80 and go up to RMB 1000 (for 3 tickets valued at RMB 580). Most expensive individual ticket is RMB 880.

Still quiet expensive since I’m sure the RMB 80 tickets are far far away from the stage
